CHINA’s National People’s Congress (NPC) says the upcoming third session of the 14th NPC which will begin tomorrow, the 5th of March 2025, will mark a crucial step in finalising plans for China’s development.

Speaking during a press conference held today in Beijing, China, NPC spokesperson Lou Qinjian said the seven-day session, which will feature three plenary meetings, promises to be a pivotal moment in China’s political landscape.

Qinjian said the session will also focus on several key areas, including the government’s work report, economic and social development, legislative reforms, and work reports from various government institutions.

He said, the government’s work report, to be deliberated upon during the session, is expected to provide a comprehensive overview of China’s progress and challenges.

Qinjian added that the report will highlight the country’s achievements in various fields, including economic development, poverty reduction, and environmental protection.

He noted that the report will also address China’s challenges, such as rising income inequality, environmental degradation, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The review of the implementation of the 2024 plan and the draft plan for 2025 will also come under spotlight during the session.

The press conference drew journalists from different media houses from across the globe, and was broadcast live on television and streamed online.
