Brig-Gen (Rtd) Ndabambi described as a committed cadre

Friends, relatives and colleagues have described the late national hero Brigadier General Retired Shadreck Ndabambi as a committed cadre who was unwavering in protecting the country’s sovereignty and community development.

The message was shared by colleagues and friends who worked closely with the late national hero during the liberation struggle and after independence in state enterprises.

Family representative Mr Solomon Ndabambi said the late Brigadier General was a straightforward family man.

“Shadreck was a man of few words, he had no time for rumour-mongering hence according to him respect within the family and friends. He was a straightforward man, a family man, he would go out of his way for the extended family,” he said

Mashonaland Central Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Honourable Christopher Magomo and Minister of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs Senator Monica Mavhunga concurred the late national hero committed his life to protecting the country’s sovereignty and feeding the nation through extensive farming.

“We are happy to have such a man being bestowed a national hero status, he was a man who invested his life in liberating Zimbabwe. He was passionate about farming,” he said.

“The national hero contributed immensely to the liberation of Zimbabwe, he joined the war at an early age and he continued after independence to work for the country in different portfolios. We cherish his works and will continue to take forward his aspirations,” she said.

The national hero’s colleague and Deputy Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Levy Mayihlome said Brigadier General Retired Ndabambi was instrumental in the turnaround of National Railways of Zimbabwe.

“We worked together with the late national hero in various capacities, and everything he did was executed diligently. We worked together at NRZ when he was overseeing the security issues while also playing a critical role towards curbing corruption within the institution,” he said
