BMX thrills set for Bulawayo as riders chase World Championship spots

BULAWAYO is set to come alive as top bikers from across Zimbabwe gather for the annual BMX Championship, which brings together budding and elite riders in a high-energy showdown.

The event promises thrilling action on the cycling track, with participants vying for a chance to represent Zimbabwe at the upcoming World Championships.

Event organiser, Paula King, confirmed they are ready for what is expected to be an exhilarating contest, open to riders of all levels.

“I am new to the sport and I am enjoying everything about the sport. We look forward to hosting riders from across the country, from budding riders to elites.”

BMX coach, Tatenda Mbalami echoed the enthusiasm, noting Bulawayo’s readiness to showcase a new crop of talented riders.

“As Bulawayo, we are ready to parade a new look of our riders hoping to make the cut to the world championships.”

Zimbabwe successfully sent riders to the 2024 World Championships in Copenhagen, and hopes of another strong showing are high.
