Chevrons target another ODI series milestone against Bangladesh

ZIMBABWE will be aiming to complete a One-Day International series clean sweep when they face Bangladesh in the third and final match at Harare Sports Club on Saturday.

Having already secured the series with two dramatic victories, the Chevrons have the opportunity to underline their progress across formats by completing a 3-0 whitewash.

Zimbabwe have shown resilience throughout the series, defending just 141 in the opening ODI before staging another remarkable comeback in the second, dismissing Bangladesh’s final seven wickets for 65 runs after the visitors looked set to level the series.

Ben Curran’s maiden ODI century, Brad Evans’ all-round performances and the consistent contributions of Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani have given Zimbabwe match winners in every department.

For Bangladesh, the final ODI presents a chance to salvage pride before the focus shifts to the three-match Twenty20 International series.

Zimbabwe, meanwhile, will be looking to carry their winning momentum into the shortest format after clinching the one-off Test by an innings and 85 runs and sealing the ODI series.

Victory on Saturday would hand Zimbabwe their first ODI series whitewash in 25 years, having previously completed clean sweeps against Bangladesh, Kenya and England.

Although the series has already been decided, the Chevrons have another milestone within reach as they look to cap one of their most impressive home campaigns in recent years.
