Tatenda Hove has emerged the winner of the Beitbridge Mayor’s Half Marathon, held along the Beitbridge–Masvingo highway.
The Black Rhinos athlete crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 55 seconds, narrowly beating Blanket Mine’s Mthokozisi Mhlanga, who came in at 1 hour and 3 minutes.
Jonathan Chinyoka, representing the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service, claimed third place with a time of 1 hour, 3 minutes, and 40 seconds.
The race, now in its 10th edition, is part of an environmental campaign themed “A Decade of Running Against Litter.”
This year’s event also drew participation from athletes in the neighbouring Musina Municipality.
