A 24-year-old man is alleged to have killed his two children after setting a house on fire in Eastview, Mabvuku, in a suspected case of filicide.
The two children were burnt beyond recognition in the blaze.
According to reports, Gift Muyengwa (24) allegedly had a misunderstanding with his wife, Tsitsi Zuze (22), over an undisclosed matter before the incident.
Muyengwa is alleged to have stabbed Zuze before setting the cabin house on fire. He allegedly then turned the knife on himself, sustaining severe injuries that exposed his intestines.
Both Muyengwa and Zuze were rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, where they are battling for their lives.
Police investigations into the incident are underway.
