THE Zimbabwe women’s national football team, the Mighty Warriors, will take part in a Four Nations tournament in Zambia during the June FIFA international break as preparations for the Olympic qualifiers gather momentum.
The tournament, scheduled for the June international window, is expected to feature Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya and Burkina Faso.
The competition is set to provide the Mighty Warriors with crucial game time ahead of their upcoming international assignments.
Zimbabwe is also expected to call up its foreign-based contingent, which was omitted from the COSAFA Women’s Championship earlier this year.
The women’s national side has struggled for regular international matches in recent years, with the Zambia tournament presenting an opportunity for the technical team to assess combinations and build momentum ahead of the Olympic qualifiers.
