ZANU PF Secretary General Advocate Jacob Mudenda has urged provincial party leaders in Mashonaland Central Province to strictly adhere to the party’s constitution during an interface meeting held in Mazowe this Wednesday.
The engagement forms part of nationwide consultations aimed at guiding party leaders on aligning their activities with the party constitution while advancing development initiatives at provincial and district levels.
Addressing provincial leaders, Advocate Mudenda emphasised that adherence to the party constitution is essential for effective leadership and organisational coherence.
“The constitution of the party is the Bible of the party. Do not leave it as leaders. If you leave it, you cannot lead as PCC. You will remain blind. Blind leaders go around and around in circles. The constitution makes you walk straight, and you know where you are supposed to go, working with those above you and those under you, the DC, districts, branches and cells,” he said.
Advocate Mudenda also urged party officials to ensure that communities in Mashonaland Central Province benefit from the exploitation of natural resources within the province.
“Our mission as ZANU PF is to maintain ownership of the means of production, equitable distribution of the means of production and natural resources. The people of Mashonaland Central should be seen there. That is what our party constitution says. Now we go to the national constitution, Section 13, subsection four, which says the State must ensure local communities benefit from resources in their areas. How do you get in? Sit down and plan as leaders,” he said.
Provincial leadership welcomed the engagement, describing it as an opportunity to reinforce party unity and strategic planning.
Kazembe Kazembe said the province remains united behind the party’s vision.
“It is my pleasure to welcome you, our guest of honour. In Mashonaland Central, we won all 18 constituencies since 2013, so we are united and focused,” he said.
Party leaders were also encouraged to develop structured ideological programmes and clear plans of action aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and implementing party policies across the province.
