FORMER Zimbabwe national team captain, Willard Katsande, has been appointed head coach of Rangers Football Club, a Northern Region Division One side based in Chinhoyi.

The club, previously known as Chinhoyi Rangers, confirmed Katsande’s appointment, with an official unveiling expected in the coming days.

The move marks Katsande’s first coaching job in Zimbabwe after acquiring his CAF coaching badge in the middle of last year.

Katsande completed the coaching course alongside another former Warriors captain, Tapuwa Kapini.

Although he has not yet coached a professional club, the former midfielder has been actively involved in football development through his Kitoko Soccer School academy.

He has also previously served in a technical role at South African fourth-division side, Crystal Lake FC.
