POLICE have arrested a 35-year-old man from Murewa in connection with a series of robbery, unlawful entry and theft cases committed between November 2025 and 5 February 2026.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said the arrest of Trust Vengai Tito followed a tip-off received by CID Murewa detectives on 6 February 2026 indicating that the suspect was in possession of property suspected to have been stolen.

“The arrest led to the recovery of a damaged cash safe, the suspect’s getaway vehicle, a Nissan AD registration number AGX 1873, various household goods, electrical appliances, solar equipment and groceries. Some of the recovered property has since been identified by the complainants.

“The suspect is clearing two robbery cases and 18 unlawful entry into premises and theft cases committed at residential premises, business centres, schools and shops in and around Murewa,” the ZRP said.

The suspect has since appeared in court.

Police said two alleged accomplices, identified as Bethel Matema and Baba Bhibhi, are still at large, with investigations continuing.

The ZRP has urged members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by promptly reporting criminal activities and refraining from purchasing property from unknown or suspicious individuals.
