ZIMBABWE national cricket team captain Sikandar Raza has reclaimed the number one position in the ICC Men’s T20I all-rounder rankings following his latest match-winning performance at the T20 World Cup in Colombo.
The updated rankings reflect Raza’s consistent contributions with both bat and ball in the shortest format of the game, underlining his importance to the Chevrons’ campaign.
Raza produced a commanding all-round display in Zimbabwe’s eight-wicket victory over Oman. He claimed figures of one for 17 in his four overs to help restrict Oman to 103 before calmly hitting the winning runs to seal the match.
The performance propelled him above Pakistan’s Saim Ayub to regain the top ranking, a position he first occupied late last year.
Meanwhile, teammate Brian Bennett has also made significant strides in the ICC T20I batting rankings. His unbeaten 48 in the same match lifted him to a career-high 19th place.
India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the T20I batting rankings globally.
Raza’s return to the summit provides further momentum for Zimbabwe as they push for a place in the latter stages of the tournament.
