THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of Anymore Zvitsva, the alleged Guruve serial murder suspect, following an extensive manhunt involving both police and military units.
Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the suspect was apprehended this Saturday by members of the Zimbabwe National Army while hiding in a garden in the Guruve area.
Zvitsva is reportedly linked to a series of violent crimes in Guruve, including the killing of more than 10 people, among them five members of the same family in December last year.
Police records indicate that over 20 murder cases have been reported in the Guruve district since November last year, raising serious security concerns within the community.
The ZRP said further information on the suspect’s charges and court proceedings will be released in due course.
