HARARE giants Dynamos are gearing up to defend the Chibuku Super Cup for the third consecutive season. The Glamour Boys face Triangle United at Gibbo Stadium on Saturday in a highly anticipated final that promises to be the mother of all showdowns.
After surviving relegation on the final day, the Harare giants are looking to make up for an otherwise disastrous campaign by clinching the Chibuku Super Cup.
Dynamos head coach Kelvin Kaindu says winning the tournament remains their most realistic target this season.
“Our match preparations for the Chubuku Super Cup final against Triangle, we do not have any suspensions. Wisdom Mutasa and Denver Mukamba, who were not coming for training are not up for selection. We are playing a team riding on home advantage. They are a bit unpredictable and this is a cup final where both teams have just managed to avoid relegation. It is not going to be an easy game.
“I only hope that it will be according to expectation. They have got a coach who knows Dynamos and a coach who has won this trophy before and he knows how it feels to win a trophy. This has been a difficult season for Dynamos to be fighting relegation till the last day, probably the only consolation for this year and probably remain unbeaten across competitions,” he said.
The Glamour Boys are unbeaten since Kaindu’s arrival and lifting the Chibuku Super Cup would be the perfect icing on the cake as they push for silverware in what has been a challenging season.
