Mapeza takes charge at Scottland after Ndiraya exit

Story by Lawrence Trusida, Sports Editor

FORMER FC Platinum Coach Norman Mapeza has been unveiled as the new head coach at newly crowned Premier Soccer League champions Scottland.

Mapeza’s appointment comes barely a day after Tonderai Ndiraya left Scottland.

Ironically, Mapeza waved goodbye to FC Platinum on Sunday, after a decade-long, trophy-laden stay in Zvishavane.

The former Warriors captain and coach signed a two-year contract on Thursday afternoon.

Mapeza has rare continental pedigree, having guided Monomotapa and FC Platinum to the group stages of the CAF Champions League, a milestone that has been achieved by very few coaches.

That track record fits into Scottland’s next chapter, as they prepare for their debut continental campaign in the CAF Champions League.
