HERENTALS Queens forward Praynance Zvawanda is gunning for the Women’s Premier Soccer League top scorer title after netting a hat-trick against Platinum Royals on Wednesday, moving just one goal behind Rutendo Makore.

The prolific striker now has 26 goals, just one shy of Black Rhinos’ Rutendo Makore, who leads with 27.

With only one match remaining, and it coming against Makore’s side, the stage is set for a dramatic finale that could determine both the league’s top scorer and individual bragging rights between two of Zimbabwe’s finest forwards.

Zwawanda, who scored a hat-trick in Herentals’ 3-nil win over Platinum Royals this Wednesday, says she is determined to finish the season as top scorer.

“I will keep pushing and focus on the final match. We are Herentals Queens, we are ready to conquer. It is not going to be easy, but I am hoping to finish at the top.”

Herentals Queens have already secured their fourth consecutive league title, and Zvawanda’s stellar form has earned her a recall to the Mighty Warriors squad for the Malawi Four Nations tournament, starting November 29.

This season, she has scored 26 goals and provided 15 assists, cementing her status as one of the league’s standout performers.
