OVER 1 000 Zimbabweans have secured employment through the innovative insourcing firm, Zimworx, which is linking the country’s skilled labour force to international job markets through remote work opportunities.

The initiative is part of a growing trend positioning Zimbabwe’s human capital as a valuable global asset, with the potential to generate sustainable employment and attract international investment in professional services.

Zimworx’s insourcing model connects Zimbabwean professionals with global companies in sectors such as accounting, digital marketing, social media management, healthcare coordination, and IT services. Employees work remotely from Zimbabwe while servicing clients in countries including the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.

“We are giving opportunities and hope to graduates coming from college. We are giving them an opportunity to work for international companies and service international clients, so this is something impactful in their lives. We have guys who are into accounting, digital marketing and social media managers,” the Country Director for Zimworx, Tonderai Nyakuwa said.

Beneficiaries of the programme shared personal stories of empowerment, citing both professional growth and financial stability.

“I had been looking for a job for about five years. When I applied through Zimworx I was able to meet my needs.

“My visa had expired in the United Kingdom and I came back and was looking for something to do, and Zimworx offered that platform and opportunity. We are scaling up the professional ladder.

“I have been working here for six years and have been growing. The financial impact helped to look after my mother and the rest of the family,” employees said.

Zimworx’ model directly capitalises on Zimbabwe’s large pool of skilled graduates specifically targeting the professional service sector.

“We have medical and health care coordination that we developed over the last years so we have since refined that so when our selected team members go through their training, they will be able to meet through those standards that we have in the US, in Canada and even in Australia we are meeting those standards that they have. The same way with IT infrastructure for our health care, we are people that know the managing system and imaging software, so it helps them quickly simulate into those businesses,” the visionary of Zimworx, J.W. Oliver Juniour said.

Meanwhile, the entity is expanding its reach, registering its presence in Victoria falls where a technology centre is now operational, thus creating employment opportunities in the country’s tourism capital.
