VICE President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga has called on Zimbabweans to rally behind the less privileged, emphasising the importance of inclusive development in improving the welfare of vulnerable groups.
The Vice President made the appeal during the official launch of Mwana Anokosha, a private voluntary organisation supporting children with disabilities, in Wedza this Sunday. The initiative seeks to provide care, resources, and opportunities for children living with disabilities, ensuring they are not left behind in national development efforts.
“We are urging fellow countrymen to emulate what has been done here to create a conducive environment for those living with disabilities to improve their welfare,” he said.
The children from the organisation were given wheelchairs and hampers, a gesture they appreciated.
Mwana Anokosha Founder, Mrs Rumbidzai Chiwenga, appealed for more support from the corporate sector and the community.
“We have so many children here with different forms of disability, so we appeal for support so that we get the resources we require,” she noted.
The Mashonaland East leadership is appreciative of the initiative.
