THE Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has recalled from the market a batch of some drugs for non-compliance with quality specifications.
In a statement released this Thursday, MCAZ confirmed that the recalled drug is called Torrent Captopril coming in 25mg Tablets manufactured by Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd, in India.
MCAZ Director General, Richard Rukwata called on all licensed pharmaceutical wholesalers, pharmacies, public and private clinics, and hospitals to quarantine and discontinue the distribution of the affected batch number B520K001.
He also called on patients in possession of this product batch to return it to the pharmacy from which it was purchased or to the authority.
