A high-powered Zimbabwean delegation is currently in Kazan, Russia, for a technical exchange programme that will inform the re-designing of the Mbare Musika Traders market into a modern facility.
After the inferno that razed down the market last year, the government is accelerating implementation mechanisms to remodel the traders market and the visiting technical committee has been tasked with the mandate to benchmark and adopt standards that will be implemented for the new Mbare Musika Traders market.
Leader of the delegation and Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Honourable Daniel Garwe said the visit is a follow-up on the response and recovery plan directed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the re-modelling of the Mbare Musika Traders market, dovetailing with sustainable development under the build-back-better initiative.
The Zimbabwean delegation visiting Kazan also includes the Minister of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises DevelopmentSenator Monica Mutsvangwa, Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities Honourable Zhemu Soda, Minister of Health and Child Care Dr Douglas Mombeshora, Harare Mayor Councillor Jacob Mafume, technical experts and senior government officials.
