Church endorses development trajectory

The Gospel of God Church International 1932 has described President Emmerson Mnangagwa as a God-fearing leader whose leadership promotes peace and hard work.

The church is a beneficiary of the government’s empowerment programmes, after the sinking of a borehole at its Gandanzara shrine and availing of land for agricultural purposes in Nyazura.

It is against this background that the church leadership commended the visionary leadership of President Mnangagwa who has seen the country moving towards attaining an upper middle-income society by 2030.

“We share the same vision with the government. The church and government should be united. The laws being promoted by the government are the same as Baba Johane’s teachings.  The government is giving us the correct direction in our lives that have its roots in the bible. We are happy with the support from the government. We ask for peace in the country. Baba Johane says Zimbabwe will be great among many nations,” said church president, Sister Era Tapera.

“We need to give honour and we thank the leadership which graced us. We call for unity and peace which is critical for development. We thank God for granting our President a key post and making him win the last elections. We want to thank God for protecting our president. We want the Lord to guide and protect him. We are calling for peace in the country,” noted the church’s vice president, Sister Erica Office.

President Mnangagwa, who attended the church’s prayer convention in 2022, has fulfilled his promises to the church as the relationship between government and the church is growing from strength to strength.

“When President Mnangagwa last came here the church requested a farm and support to sink more boreholes. The government sunk three boreholes and gave the church a farm to be productive. This shows that President Mnangagwa is a listening and development-oriented leader,” said Manicalnd Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza.

Secretary for War Veterans Affairs in the Politburo, Cde Douglas Mahiya weighed in, “A government that respects the word of God will not fail. The sending of minister Muchinguri by the president to represent him here is testimony that he is God fearing and that is an important factor towards the success of his leadership.”

Meanwhile, Defence Minister, Cde Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri officially opened two treasure houses where the Church founder, Baba Johane Masedza Masowe is buried.

Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri accompanied government and party officials also toured the mausoleum where Baba Johane is buried.
