MORE than 25 local companies are billed to participate at this year’s Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show (ZACS) which will be held later this month, in line with Government’s thrust to increase exports.

As official statistics show that Zimbabwe’s exports to Zambia have grown from over US$58 million in 2017 to more than US$142 million last year, more local firms are interested in increasing their market share in the neighbouring economy.

ZimTrade Export Promotion Officer Mrs Sheron Chingonzo revealed that the upcoming Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show has attracted more interest with local firms tapping into available business opportunities.

“ZimTrade has consistently been attending the trade fair annually and due to the continuous positive response to Zimbabwean products, more firms will also be participating this year, like every other year, 25 Zimbabwean companies will be participating and establishing themselves in the Zambian market,” she said.

Specific sectors targeted for the fair include manufacturing, agriculture inputs, fast-moving consumer goods, mining, construction, engineering, personal protective equipment wear and the services industry.

She added, “The Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show is a multi-sectoral fair which will provide Zimbabwean companies with a unique window to showcase their products and engage leading buyers in the market.”

According to ZimTrade, Zimbabwean companies have taken part in the fair annually due to continuous positive responses to locally manufactured goods.
