The Zimbabwe national cricket team, the Chevrons have conceded a series defeat after losing to India by 10 wickets at Harare Sports Club this Saturday.
The Chevrons were second best in every aspect of the game as they failed to negotiate a series-levelling chance, resulting in another defeat to the world champions.
After being put to bat first, the opening pair had a decent showing surpassing 50 runs without loss, however, when the first wicket fell, the Chevrons became too weak and began losing wickets on a regular basis.
Skipper, Sikandar Raza tried all he could to step up the run rate in order for the Chevrons to post a huge total, but being the lone aggressive act, he eventually lost his wicket to Tushar Despande.
Apart from Raza and the opening pair, no other batsmen stepped up as Zimbabwe posted a lowly 152 runs for seven in their 20 overs against the newly crowned champions.
The target was too easy for India to chase with the opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill powering India towards a series-winning victory.
The two batters scored unbeaten big half-centuries, with Jaiswal falling seven runs short of a century, while Gill scored 58 runs as India outclassed the Chevrons.
The defeat for the Chevrons means that India have already won the five-match series and will play for pride in the final T20 slated for this Sunday at the same venue.
