BRIGADIER General (Rtd) Victor Mpandasekwa Mzheri, who died this Monday, has been declared a national hero.
Delivering the message to the Mzheri family at the family home in Helensvale, Borrowdale this Thursday, the Minister of State for National Security, Honourable Lovemore Matuke, who was accompanied by the Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, Honourable Kazembe Kazembe, said Brigadier General (Rtd) Mzheri has been honoured for his immense contribution to the development of the country.
Family spokesperson Mrs Connie Chikore expressed gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for honouring one of their own.
Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
