THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League resumes this Friday with a potentially explosive encounter between Scottland and ZPC Kariba, two sides who have different aspirations.
On any given day, the match set for Rufaro Stadium this Friday between Scottland and ZPC Kariba is just another match, but not this fixture and not this time of the season.
New boys Scottland are looking to win the league in their debut season and a win against ZPC Kariba will boost their chances.
The Mabvuku-based side are a point behind log leaders and defending PSL champions, Simba Bhora and a victory on Friday will temporarily take them top of the table.
Scottland have form on their side, having won the last five league matches.
On the other hand, ZPC Kariba are eying survival.
They might be 8th on the log but they are just six points off the relegation zone, something which makes the match potentially exciting.
Scottland are starting to show the potency upfront that almost everyone had predicted due to the array of offensive stars they have, however ZPC have a solid defence, something that has made them survive for so long.
Another blockbuster is set for Saturday as defending champions, Simba Bhora travel to Norton for a date against MWOS at Ngoni Stadium.
MWOS set the pace early in the season, but the second half of the season has not been kind to them.
On the same day, Ngezi Platinum Stars take on Bikita Minerals at Baobab, Green Fuel host Herentals in Chisumbanje and Chicken Inn take on Manica Diamonds in a battle to survive relegation.
On Sunday, Highlanders welcome TelOne to Barbourfields, underwhelming CAPS United face Yadah at Rufaro, Triangle date FC Platinum at Gibbo and Kwekwe United battle Dynamos in a bottom of the table clash.
