THE 2026 National Pre-Budget Seminar has kicked off in Bulawayo, marking the beginning of crucial deliberations that will shape the country’s fiscal policy for the upcoming year.
This year’s discourse is particularly significant as it comes at a time the National Development Strategy One (NDS1) is coming to an end and set to be replaced by the National Development Strategy Two (NDS2), which will anchor the nation’s push towards an upper middle-income society by 2030.
Over the next few days, parliamentarians will engage in thematic sessions covering various aspects of the economy, including the proposed macroeconomic framework and fiscal policy thrust for 2026.
The input gathered from this inclusive platform will be critical in refining the final budget document, ensuring that it is reflective of national priorities and stakeholder expectations.
