LOCAL entrepreneurs have rolled out a regional and global network system that seeks to showcase available opportunities across the country to prospective investors.

A Global Business Achievers Network held this weekend attracted several regional and global entrepreneurs who pledged support to Zimbabwe’s ongoing business reforms aimed at increasing confidence in productive sectors.

“A lot can be derived riding on the networks so as we strive to foster the partnership there is that sense of optimism together, we can build the Africa we want in terms of business development,” a participant said.

“The networks should continue because they give us an insight about what is happening in Zimbabwe how can I fit as a regional investor in terms of the opportunities and the overall thrust of industrialisation as Zimbabwe is currently the chair of the SADC region,” a regional investor said.

“Am from South Africa and my mission is to explore opportunities in the health sector so I am confident that through this forum we can explore a lot of opportunities,” a South African participant said.

Local entrepreneurs and government revealed a commitment to working with regional and global entrepreneurs in promoting investment.

“This is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe, remember the event has attracted several entrepreneurs from the United Kingdom, Canada, Cameroon, Mozambique, Botswana, and South Africa among many other nations, the key goal is to interact and learn from one another it is about such experiences that we identify challenges and how we can overcome them. In business furthermore showcasing local opportunities become the hallmark of the network agenda,” Global Business Achievers Network, Chief Executive Officer, Dr Tendesai Mushamba said.

“This occasion is very important as it marks another milestone in attracting those who want to set up projects in Zimbabwe, the message is clear, Zimbabwe wants to do business with everyone and this is the model we are pursuing in retaining skills while fostering the element of entrepreneurship to facilitate overall growth, basically I am confident such networks will continuously be held to foster or consolidate the partnerships,” the Minister of Skills Audit and Development, Professor Paul Mavima said.

Zimbabwe is forging ahead with favourable business operating conditions as part of the Second Republic’s thrust to attract more local and global projects in mining, agriculture, construction, transport, manufacturing, financial services, retail and distribution, among others.
