Zimbabwe on a learning curve- Sikander Raza

Zimbabwe on a learning curve- Sikander Raza

Story by Lawrence Trusida, Sports Editor

CHEVRONS T20 Captain Sikander Raza is confident Zimbabwe has learned some valuable lessons from playing the guns as they prepare to face Sri Lanka in the second T20 in Colombo, this Tuesday.

Zimbabwe has been on a dismal run of late, having lost the One Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka two-nil and trailing one-nil in the three-match T20 series.

Zimbabwe also failed to qualify for the T20 and ODI world cups before losing to Namibia in a bilateral series.

T20 captain Sikander Raza, however, believes they are learning from the best in the business.

Chevrons T20 captain, Sikander Raza said, “Obviously I wasn’t happy with the result but I am not disappointed with the way we lost, I think we put up a good fight, the way we batted, fielded and then bowled it went to fine margins, at the end of the day we were coming up against two experienced international and they made that count, but we need to keep this kind of performances and learn from these experienced guys how they go about their business and those lessons will make us better shortly when these boys come up against these guys next time they will know what to do.”

Zimbabwe needs to force a result in Tuesday’s match to keep the three-match series alive.
