A 14-year-old girl was allegedly threatened with death by rapper Mukudzei Chitsama, popularly known as Holy Ten, before he raped her at a Harare property, the court heard on Wednesday.
According to the State’s case outline, the accused “threatened complainant and told her to comply in whatever he was doing or else he would kill her” after locking her inside a room.
Holy Ten (27), of Glendale, is facing rape charges involving a minor.
The alleged incident took place on July 20. Earlier that day, the complainant and her friend went to Avondale shops where Holy Ten was recording music. The teenager had reportedly been invited to feature in a video shoot.
At around 6pm, the friend went home, leaving the complainant with the accused. The court heard that Holy Ten then took her to a bed-and-breakfast property in Hatfield where he was staying.
Upon arrival, the State says there were “many people and all were men”. Holy Ten allegedly took the complainant into his room and locked the door from inside.
Prosecutors say he then issued the death threat before undressing the minor and forcing her onto a bed. The court outline further alleges that four unidentified men entered the room and restrained her.
“Two held complainant’s hands… [and] the other two… held her legs,” the State says.
Holy Ten is then alleged to have raped the complainant once without protection or consent.
After the incident, the accused reportedly instructed one of the men to arrange transport for the complainant, who was taken back to Avondale shops.
She later met her aunt whom she lives with. Initially, the complainant said she had been visiting a friend, but later disclosed the alleged assault. Her aunt accompanied her to report the matter to police, leading to Holy Ten’s arrest.
The four alleged accomplices remain at large.
