IT was a Zimbabwe Warriors showdown on Sunday, with Thando Ngwenya and Junior Zindoga both on target as AmaZulu edged TS Galaxy 3-2 in the Betway Premiership.
The day, however, belonged to Ngwenya, who delivered a match-winning performance to claim the Player of the Match award after inspiring AmaZulu FC to win the five-goal thriller.
Ngwenya made an immediate impact after coming on as a substitute in the 66th minute, swinging momentum in AmaZulu’s favour with a lively and decisive display off the bench.
The Zimbabwe international netted the equaliser before providing a crucial assist for the winning goal, completing a dramatic comeback for Usuthu against the Rockets.
The win boosts AmaZulu’s league campaign and Ngwenya’s form will be welcome news for Warriors coaches and fans back home, as Zimbabwean internationals continue to shine abroad.
On the opposite end, fellow Warriors forward Junior Zindoga was also on target for TS Galaxy, continuing his strong run despite ending on the losing side.
Zindoga’s strike adds to an impressive spell for the forward, who was voted Player of the Match on Wednesday following an influential performance against Marumo Gallants.
The contest ultimately showcased Zimbabwean talent on both sides, with two Warriors finding the net in a tightly contested Premiership encounter.
