ZIMBABWE’S Under-21 Women’s Hockey Team has departed for Chile ahead of the 2025 Junior World Cup, set to take place from December 1 to 3.
The team will be representing the nation on the global stage, with hopes high for a strong performance at the highly anticipated tournament.
Zimbabwe are in Pool B, dubbed the ‘Group of Champions’, featuring formidable opponents, including 2023 runners-up Argentina, as well as hockey powerhouses Belgium and Wales.
This marks the team’s sixth appearance and fourth consecutive participation at the World Cup.
The team is confident of producing a competitive show after an impressive third-place finish at the Junior Africa Cup in Namibia early this year.
Namibia and South Africa are the other African sides at the global showpiece.
The defending champions, the Netherlands, will be looking to retain their title.
