The newly-appointed Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) board members have pledged commitment to enhance the operations of the national broadcaster in line with international standards.

The additional board members for the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) have pledged to use their expertise to ensure the organisation delivers its strategic mandate.

The new board members include broadcast media personnel Ms Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa, information technology and engineering expert Mr Craig Matambo, media and communications specialist, Mr Thandolwenkosi Nkomo and Dr Queen Mpofu whose background is in Finance and Accounting.

“We are really privileged to be part of this board, to serve such an August organisation and we are really mindful of the challenges that ZBC is currently facing, challenges around viability, right kind of content, employee motivation. We see these challenges and we are saying we want to bring our expertise to ensure ZBC is a viable entity, an entity that can serve the interests of the nation and ensure the needs of listeners and viewers are prioritised and met creatively and strategically,” said Mr Nkomo.

ZBC board chair, Ms Helliate Rushwaya highlighted the additional board members will bolster the board’s operations.
