AS the Insiza North Constituency by-election race heats up, the ruling ZANU PF party is not leaving anything to chance with party members rallying behind its candidate Cde Delani Moyo.
Addressing members who braved the chilly weather this Saturday, ZANU PF Matabeleland South Vice Chairperson Cde Albert Nguluvhe called on party supporters to come in numbers to ensure they retain the seat.
“I know through our democratic processes we held our primary elections and we had seven contestants but one emerged and now it is no longer about the other candidates its about ZANU PF, we need to demonstrate maturity and ensure that we deliver this seat. It is ours,” he said.
“We have to ensure that we set aside our differences if we have and deliver this seat. We can only do that when we are united,” ZANU PF National Consultative member, Cde Patrick Hove said.
The Insiza North Constituency fell vacant following the death of Cde Farai Taruvinga in March this year.
Cde Delani Moyo will battle it out with ZAPU’s Thabani Mlotshwa, Mr Mbongeni Moyo of the Zimbabwe National Revival Party and an independent candidate, Mr Lesley Dube.
