THE ZANU PF party has urged its supporters to stay focused on the developmental initiatives led by the Second Republic, highlighting the newly established Makore Secondary School in Gutu South as a key example of the government’s commitment to improving community livelihoods.

This was reinforced when hundreds of villagers in Gutu South gathered this Saturday to celebrate the ongoing developments in the area, showcasing several projects made possible with the support of local legislator, Honourable Pupurai Togarepi.

“Today is a great day for Gutu South as we reflect on numerous government initiatives led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa. We are gathered at the new Makore Secondary School, which will open its doors to our children next term. This is a significant milestone because our children previously had to travel long distances to attend secondary school,” Honorable Togarepi remarked.

He expressed gratitude for the transformation taking place in the community, acknowledging the government’s continuous support.

“Under the Second Republic, we have witnessed a positive transformation in our community. We now have several new clinics, schools, community gardens, and agriculture projects. I would also like to appreciate the dedication of our community members, who provide labor and support to ensure the success of these initiatives.”

ZANU PF Politburo Member and Minister of State for National Security, Cde Lovemore Matuke, also urged Zimbabweans to remain focused on development and to ignore calls for disruptive actions from outside the country.

“The developments we are witnessing today are clear indicators of community transformation. We must protect the progress we have made and avoid being distracted by those calling for illegal demonstrations. Communities should stay united, work together, and resist attempts to disrupt our peace and development. Our security forces are on high alert and are ready to ensure peace in our country.”

Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honorable Ezra Chadzamira, echoed these sentiments, reassuring the community that the government will continue supporting local development initiatives.

“Do not panic, continue with your daily activities that contribute to the growth of your communities and the nation at large. Our security forces are vigilant, and we will continue to support initiatives, particularly in the agriculture sector, as it is the backbone of our economy,” Honorable Chadzamira said.

The event also saw individuals receiving awards for their outstanding contributions to various community development programmes, particularly in agriculture, further reinforcing the positive impact of these initiatives in Gutu South.
