ZANU PF strengthens ties with affiliates to empower communities

THE ruling ZANU PF party is on a drive to rally its affiliates in the drive to empower the citizenry.

Since the days of the liberation struggle, the ruling ZANU PF Party has been working with the masses and like-minded organisations to dislodge colonial bondage.

This connection between the ruling party and its affiliates has been reinvigorated under the Second Republic, with the Bulawayo Women’s League this Monday engaging over 90 associates under the banner Women in Global Markets Against Poverty 4ED.

“We are here to encourage each other as members of Women in Global Markets Against Poverty 4ED working together with ZANU PF women’s league so that we can empower each other,” the Chairperson of Women in Global Markets Against Poverty 4ED, Ms Netsai Madzivire noted.

“As ZANU PF women’s league, we are continuing with our mobilisation drive so that we can work and encourage all members and affiliates to be part of ZANU PF developmental programmes.  We want women to be economically independent,” ZANU PF Bulawayo Province Women’s League Chairperson Cde Rejoice Sibanda added.

The initiative is part of the ruling ZANU PF’s strategy to empower the community.

“We are currently engaging everybody, both ZANU PF members and non-members, so that we can empower them through different programmes, like making detergents and other things for resale. Today, we were able to meet one of the ZANU PF 90 affiliates and we will continue doing so, so that people can have interest in our party,” ZANU PF Central Committee Member, Cde Eulysses Nowedza said.

Gender equity is one of the ruling party’s agendas to promote economic independence.
