ZANU PF restructuring exercise begins

Story Bruce Chahwanda, Political Editor

THE ZANU-PF restructuring exercise has started, with the focus on rejuvenating the ruling party’s structures.

The exercise is provided for by the constitution and is meant to come up with an effective database of the party’s support base.

In Harare Province, ZANU PF teams have embarked on a door-to-door exercise starting with highly populated suburbs.

ZANU PF Harare Province Political Commissar, Cde Kudakwashe Damson says, “We have started the process in other constituencies but we will intensify the programme over the weekends as we will have an opportunity to get more numbers. Our teams are currently on the ground to ensure they record our supporters and this is an ongoing exercise which will last for a month.”

Those who defected to the revolutionary party have also been urged to take the opportunity to become bona fide ZANU PF members.

Cde Damson added, “We had huge turnouts of defectors towards elections and the restructuring period is crucial for these members to be registered in their respective villages. We want to ensure that we have a strong base for the party and champion developmental projects that are key towards changing the lives of the people.”

The cell registration process will end on the 17th of July and will culminate in the election of leadership from branch to provincial levels.

ZANU PF is championing various transformative projects across the country, including water provision, road rehabilitation, as part of fulfillment of its election promises.
