ZANU PF Matabeleland South leadership has called on the citizenry to be vigilant and uphold peace before, during and after the SADC Summit.
ZANU PF Matabeleland South Provincial Coordinating Committee members held a meeting this Saturday to discuss several issues key among the need to uphold peace before, during and after the upcoming SADC Summit.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the provincial chairperson, Cde Mangaliso Ndlovu called on the people of Matabeleland South to be vigilant and guard against those bent on causing anarchy.
“We are so excited that we successfully hosted the SADC Industrialisation Week, where delegates spoke highly of our hospitality and we therefore call for the environment to continue, we know there are other elements who want to tarnish the country’s image and as a province, we say we will be vigilant.”
The meeting also discussed the ongoing drought relief programme which has been hailed as a success.
“As a province, we also deliberated on the ongoing drought relief programme, and I am happy to tell you that it is ongoing well. We also spoke about the Presidential Borehole Drilling Programme and how it has transformed communities,” added Cde Ndlovu.
Zimbabwe is set to host the SADC summit this month with President Emmerson Mnangagwa assuming the chairmanship of the regional bloc.
