ZANU PF is formulating a social media policy to ensure that there are regulations which safeguard against abuse and exploiting social media to fan divisions in the party.

This was revealed at Mount Darwin inter-district conference held this Saturday.

The ruling party is continuing its drive to sensitise supporters in the district on the outcome of the National People’s Conference held in Bulawayo late last year.

ZANU PF national political commissar Cde Munyaradzi Machacha urged party supporters to guard against social media influence bent on dividing its leaders.

“The party met and is formulating a social media policy that will govern usage to separate official messages from the party and those driven by opposition elements. We are at the stage of building the nation and improving individual household incomes for the people, but the enemy wants us to be in perpetual election mode. As leaders, let us focus on important matters,” said Cde Machacha.

ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Province Deputy Chairman Cde Christopher Magomo told the people of Mt. Darwin that the resolution that they recommended for President Mnangagwa to remain in office had been approved at the Bulawayo conference.

“When a resolution has been made at the conference, it becomes policy and we all recommended that President Mnangagwa be in office until 2030. If you do not support that, then you cease to be a member of the party, you become an opponent. Do not be poisoned by those outside the party who have their resolutions.”

The War veterans and youth leagues praised the implementation of various programs to empower them led by President Mnangagwa.

“For the first time in history, war veterans have a broad-based empowerment programme which has never been seen before,” said ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Province Youth League chairperson Cde Emmerson Raradza.

ZANU PF Mashonaland Central Province War Veterans League Chairperson Cde Martin Kwainona ‘As the youth, we are grateful for the heifer distribution programmes and only yesterday, we initiated a poultry programme after receiving chicks from the President. Rushinga district received 500 yesterday and Mount Darwin is set to receive 1200.

The Land Title Deeds Programme also came under scrutiny with ruling party supporters commending the initiative that is unlocking funding to finance agriculture operations.
