WOMEN’S Premier Soccer League action continues this Friday, with newcomers Ngezi Platinum Queens looking to bounce back when they host Faith Drive at Baobab Stadium.
The league debutants endured a difficult start to life in the top flight, suffering a heavy 8-0 defeat to Chapungu Queens in their opening fixture.
They will be eager to make amends on home soil and secure their first points of the campaign.
Standing in their way is a confident Faith Drive side, who opened their season in impressive fashion with a 3-1 victory over Conduit Academy.
Ngezi Platinum Queens currently sit at the foot of the table without a point, while Faith Drive are among the early pace-setters, occupying fourth place with three points.
The weekend promises plenty of action across the league.
On Saturday, Correctional Queens will host CAPS United Royals at Wagadhugu Stadium.
Rise of Hope Academy will face Rufaro Starlets at Bata Stadium.
At Chiefs Village, Mpopoma Sports Academy welcomes league leaders Chapungu Queens.
Elsewhere, Platinum Royals take on Harare City Queens at Mandava Stadium.
Defending champions Herentals Queens travel to One Commando for a clash against Craneborne Royals.
Later on Saturday, Black Rhinos Queens square off against Kwekwe Queens at the same venue.
The weekend’s fixtures conclude on Sunday, when Chegutu Community Queens host Conduit Academy at Pfupajena Stadium.
All eyes will be on Baobab Stadium as Ngezi Platinum Queens aim to turn the page and begin their WPSL journey on a positive note.
