Warriors fall to Burkina Faso in international friendly

ZIMBABAWE suffered a two-nil defeat at the hands of Burkina Faso in an international friendly played this Friday evening at the Stade El Bachir, Mohammédia, in Morocco.

The largely changed side started slowly allowing their much more fancied opponents to dominate the game.

Even though upfront Tino Kadewere and Tawanda Maswanhise tried to show their class, they were fighting a lone battle as their teammates looked overhauled by the seemingly faster and more fluid Stallions.

The West Africans capitalised on their good start taking a two-nil lead courtesy of a Aziz Chi brace to seal a dominant first 45 minutes.

Burkina Faso continued with their dominance in the second period, putting Zimbabwe on the back foot.

However, the Warriors were more solid at the back keeping the score at two nil at full-time.

Next up for the Warriors is a date against Niger on Tuesday.
