Warriors defender Galloway seals Plymouth victory at Home Park

WARRIORS defender Brendan Galloway was on target this afternoon, steering his League One side, Plymouth Argyle to victory over Luton Town to move to 14th on the 24-team league table.

The Warriors defender scored the only goal as Plymouth Argyle secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory, a performance that earned him the man of the match award.

The decisive moment came just before halftime when Galloway powered home the only goal of the game in the 45th +3 minute, pouncing as a headed set-piece broke back into play to give the Greens the lead heading into the break.

January has been a productive month for the Zimbabwe international, who has now registered his third goal for Plymouth in January, a remarkable return for a defender and another key contribution as Argyle extend their push up the League One table.

Plymouth dominated the opening stages, with Matty Sorinola going close and winger Ronan Curtis hitting the bar in the build-up to the match-winning strike.

The hosts also enjoyed the bulk of possession in the first half, but it was Galloway’s clinical finish that proved decisive.

Luton Town battled after the break and looked to find a way back into the game, but their efforts were kept at bay by a resilient Argyle defence and some key saves from goalkeeper Conor Hazard.

With the win, Plymouth extend their League One winning run to three matches, a positive run of form that could prove crucial as the season progresses.
