VP Chiwenga rallies support for ZANU PF Beitbridge West Candidate

Story by Oleen Ndori

THE Beitbridge West community has been implored to vote for ruling party candidate Cde Thusani Ndou in the December 9 by-elections.

ZANU PF Vice President and Second Secretary General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga this Wednesday descended on Bishopstone Estate in Beitbridge West to drum up support for the ruling party ahead of the Saturday by-election.

Dr Chiwenga said a win for ZANU PF will further propel the national development agenda.

“We have various projects lined up for the country and come December 9 everyone should vote for Cde Thusani Ndou. He is from this area and he understands the challenges you face so let us give him adequate support. Your government knows your challenges starting with youth empowerment and job creation for the development of the country.

“Government has put in place the devolution agenda that aims to develop, leaving no-one and no place behind and we have done massive work including the development of the Beitbridge Border Post, Beitbridge highway, passport office and others, these are programmes of the second republic and ZANU PF and for this development agenda to continue we must vote for our MP,” he said.

With the government spearheading the Rural Development 8.0 Model, Dr Chiwenga rolled out a borehole sinking programme across the constituency to ensure water availability and the establishment of agriculture-related income generation projects.

Dr Chiwenga also spoke about government strides and projects underway in the area of education, and healthcare.

“Our children walk long distances and the government has chipped in the building of Marere School and plans are afoot at other schools. Your health is at the heart of our President and let me assure you that plans are underway to develop and deliver an ambulance here. Let me also assure you that ZESA will look into the powerline that has not been working and they will be here soon to fix this challenge because the country has put in place mechanisms to end the electricity challenges.”

Nine constituencies will hold by-elections on the 9th of December after the recall of Citizens Coalition for Change legislators by the party’s interim secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu.
