The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has rolled out an awareness programme on the proper channels of land allocation.
The question of land distribution was a critical matter when members of the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) joined forces with the Zimbabwe Republic Police, local authorities and other stakeholders in a capacity-building initiative in Lukosi, Hwange this Monday.
This comes in the wake of government concern over the illegal allocation of state land.
“This is a very important exercise. Most of our traditional leaders occupy that office not because of any qualifications. That is why constant education awareness campaigns are important so that they are taught how to administer land within their areas of jurisdiction,” said Chief Nekatambe.
The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission says the law is clear on how land is administered in Zimbabwe.
“The major reason we have launched this campaign is to encourage adherence to the law. That is why we are taking this programme countrywide, the reason is so that there is a full understanding of what the law demands on land matters,” noted ZACC Public Education Manager, Munyaradzi Magiga.
The development comes as the government has issued a stern warning against those involved in corrupt activities about land distribution.
