TWO Harare men, Thabo Blessing Dube (27) and Martin Charlie (25), appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Monday, facing allegations of rape involving a local socialite.

It is the State’s case that the incident occurred last month when the suspects allegedly invited the complainant under the pretext of offering an advertising contract for their purported business venture.

The complainant reportedly met the accused in Harare’s Central Business District, after which they proceeded to a residence in Eastlea.

Upon arrival, she was allegedly lured into a room under the guise of a business meeting.

Inside, the suspects are accused of locking the doors and taking turns to rape her.

Despite threats not to report the incident, the complainant approached the police.

A medical examination was conducted, leading to the arrest of the accused.

The pair were remanded in custody, with a bail application scheduled for Wednesday.
