Tributes pour in for the late Colonel (Rtd) Tshinga Dube

Tributes are pouring in following the death of Colonel (Retired) Tshinga Dube, who died in Bulawayo this Thursday.

Colonel (Rtd) Tshinga Dube, who played a pivotal role in the country’s liberation struggle, was known for his unwavering commitment to his nation.

Family members described him as a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who was deeply committed to his country.

ZANU PF Politburo members have also paid their condolences.

Highlanders executive members described the late Colonel Tshinga as a father figure to the football club.

Born in Usher, Matobo district in 1941, he became involved in politics at a young age before joining ZAPU in the 1960s.

He received military training in China and was deployed into the arms procurement department of ZIPRA.

Colonel (Rtd) Dube was attested into the Zimbabwe National Army at independence and served in government as the Minister of Welfare Services for War Veterans, War Collaborators and Former Political Detainees between 2015 and 2017.

He is survived by his wife Nomathemba Dube, children and several grandchildren.

Mourners are gathered at 168 Shirley Road in Killarney, Bulawayo.
