THE weekend was filled with vibrant entertainment, with the Legends Night concert standing out as one of the most attended events.
The youthful Intotal Band captivated audiences with renditions of classic Zimbabwean songs, much to the delight of music lovers.
A euphoric atmosphere engulfed the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on Sunday as the band performed timeless hits from musical legends including Oliver Mtukudzi, Leonard Dembo, System Tazvida, Thomas Mapfumo, Alick Macheso, Chioneso Maraire, Marshall Munhumumwe, James Chimombe, among others.
Adding to the nostalgia, the band also donned wardrobes inspired by the iconic fashion of yesteryears.
Excitement filled the venue as soon as the first chords were played, with the youthful crowd responding enthusiastically to songs that continue to resonate across generations.
The band expressed the importance of learning from and honouring those who paved the way in Zimbabwe’s music industry.
“I guess as young people it is always good to celebrate our very own as well as pay tribute because if we do not do who is going to do that? It is always good to remember, to reminiscence the music and we see a lot of people including the younger ones loving it,” Intotal band member, Mary Anibal said.
“We have a lot to learn from our legends both living and the ones who have departed. I encourage parents to support their kids who love the arts sector,” another band member, Ndomupeishe Chipendo said.
The Intotal Band, composed of over 20 youthful artists all under the age of 40, is planning to stage another edition of Legends Night in Bulawayo, making it the first time the event will be held twice in the same year.
