Three killed in Jerusalem despite truce extension

Story by Oleen Ndori

THREE people have been killed, while six others were injured in Jerusalem after two gunmen reportedly opened fire at a bus stop.

Hamas has claimed the gunmen who were shot dead by police were its members and this comes a day after two Palestinian boys aged 8 and 14, were shot and killed during an Israeli army raid in the West Bank city of Jenin.

Meanwhile, Israel has extended a temporary ceasefire in Gaza for a seventh day as international mediators try to negotiate the release of more hostages.

Egypt and Qatar are pushing for a new two-day extension to the temporary ceasefire in Gaza, along with further Palestinian prisoner releases and an increase in humanitarian aid deliveries.

This comes a day after 12 Israeli and four Thai hostages held by Hamas arrived back in Israel with 30 Palestinian women and teenage boys being freed from Israeli jails.
