THE ZANU PF Women’s League has intensified its empowerment initiatives, reaching thousands of women across Zimbabwe, as the ruling party continues to prioritise inclusive development and social upliftment.

The Harare Province leadership of the Women’s League convened on Monday to review the progress made in 2025 and outline strategies for an expanded programme in 2026.

Beneficiaries of these initiatives expressed gratitude for the support provided by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, noting the transformative impact of the empowerment projects on their lives.

“We are forever grateful for the support we are getting from the President because he is giving us a special place not just in the party but in society. Our lives have changed for the better.

“Since joining the party, we are now seeing that we are being valued as women because these empowerment programmes are changing our lives,” beneficiaries said.

ZANU PF Harare Province Women’s League Chairperson, Cde Babra Mwale, and Women’s League Secretary for External Relations, Cde Betty Nhambu-Kaseke, are optimistic that 2026 will even be a better year for the women’s wing.

“2025 was a great year, but 2026 has more in store for the women because we are going large-scale with the already existing projects and introducing more so that every woman is empowered,” Cde Mwale said.

“We were given a US$3 million fund for empowerment projects, and every Province will get US$300 000. This money will see more projects being implemented. We are not going to leave anyone behind, just like our President’s mantra. Everyone will benefit, and every woman will be able to contribute to this nation’s developmental agenda,” Cde Nhambu-Kaseke said.

The Women’s League’s programme aligns with the government’s broader agenda to promote women’s economic participation and youth empowerment, key pillars of Zimbabwe’s vision to achieve upper middle-income status by 2030.
