Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Scottland have been confirmed as Kaizer Chiefs’ opponents in this year’s Toyota Cup, set for 26 July at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg, South Africa.

The fixture will mark the third edition of the annual tournament and presents Scottland with a valuable opportunity to test themselves against one of South Africa’s most celebrated clubs ahead of their CAF Champions League campaign.

The Zimbabwean champions are expected to use the high-profile encounter as part of their preparations for the CAF Champions League preliminary round, which gets underway in August.

Scottland’s squad features several experienced campaigners, including former Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat, veteran attacker Knowledge Musona and striker Terrence Dzvukamanja, all of whom bring considerable continental and international experience.

For Kaizer Chiefs, the match offers another chance to secure a maiden Toyota Cup triumph. Amakhosi are yet to win the competition, having suffered defeats in the previous two editions against Tanzania’s Young Africans and Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.

The clash is expected to attract significant interest from supporters across the region, with both sides eager to make a strong statement ahead of the new season and their respective continental assignments.
