JOSTLING for the big catch in the mid-season, player signings have reached a fever pitch with moneybags Scottland leading the race in acquiring quality service.

The ambitious Premier Soccer League debutants have caused a stir by securing the signature of former Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United striker, Terrence Dzvukamanja, a move widely seen as a statement of intent as they seek to cement their status in the top flight.

Scottland FC Secretary General, Fortune Bgwoni, confirmed that more signings are on the cards as the club aims to strengthen its squad further.

“More news is on the way. Dzvukamanja is just the beginning of more signings. We want to post a statement of intent,” he said.

Bgwoni also quashed rumours that Head Coach Tonderai Ndiraya’s job is unsafe.

“As Scottland, we had a top-four target, so that thing of saying Ndiraya is not safe is just hearsay. We are happy with his performance,” Bgwoni said.

Rumour mill has it that Mabviravira will release midfield maestro Tichaona Chipunza and loan other players to create space for new faces.

Meanwhile, the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is targeting to complete the 2025 season on November 23, to create time for the Africa Cup of Nations set for Morocco in December.

“We have rolled out a complete second-half programme. The whole idea is to emulate other well-run leagues and give our stakeholders the whole calendar for planning purposes. We intend to finish the league by November 23, so that we allow for enough time to support our warriors in Morocco,” acting PSL chief executive officer, Rodwell Thabe said.

The 2025 premier soccer league season had an early kick-off to create room for the Warriors AFCON preparations.
