Scottland falls as CAPS United  clinchs derby victory

HARARE giants, CAPS United, have kept Scottland’s ambitions at bay after beating the ambitious new boys by a solitary goal at Rufaro Stadium this Sunday.

After a lengthy social media battle, Scottland and CAPS United got a chance to settle their scores on the pitch this Sunday at their shared home venue, Rufaro Stadium.

Battling for derby bragging rights, the home team failed to live up to their nickname Mabviravira, as they were tamed on their turf by CAPS United.

Makepekepe, who have rediscovered their rhythm, placed faith in their mid-season signings, a move that paid off, as newly signed Congolese forward Chris Mugalu opened his account in the premiership with a goal on his debut start for CAPS United.

The veteran forward, who brings experience from various leagues around the world, delivered the defining moment of the match, leaving the ambitious Scottland side on 28 points 12 behind the runaway log leaders, MWOS.

Elsewhere at Bata Stadium in Gweru, Highlanders failed to regain their winning form and were held to a goalless draw by bottom-of-the-table Kwekwe United.

Meanwhile, the student-versus-teacher clash at Gibbo Stadium ended in a stalemate, with Herbert Maruwa’s TelOne fighting back to earn a point against Triangle United.
